Too too funny!

Whilst waiting for some server stuff to finish running today, I was messing around with the new Google Earth 5.1.

Since Google Earth does the directions finding like Google Maps and I had clicked on some scenic points of interest like Mt Fuji, I decided to see "how" Google Earth would get me from my home to Mount Fuji.

I thought it would take me to the nearest international airport and fly me across the ocean... but noooooo.. that would be too easy! Instead I am to "kayak across the Pacific Ocean Entering Hawaii". Interesting, what I really can't figure out however is, WHY it has me DRIVE all the way to Seattle to launch my kayak! Maybe that is the only official "kayak launch" on the west coast? I mean, if I am going to attack the treacherous ocean in a kayak, I would think that pushing off the Manhattan beach pier would do just fine.

And for that matter, why even detour my way down to Hawaii and then back up to Japan? Maybe they think I need a little break after my first 2756 miles before I do another 3879 miles to Japan??!?! naaaahhh...

Apparently just a few days ago Sept 4, a filing was made in the California District Court testifying that Obama WAS in fact born in Kenya and signed an affidavit under penalty of perjury to that effect.

Ok this is too funny, almost.

One of George Carlin's skits involved him being a news man reading the news. One of my fav jokes from this is when he states "[insert famous rocker] has died today, the cause of death has not yet been determined to be a drug overdose or a plane crash"..

So today the news is all abuzz over "DJ AM" where they are trying to determine.. you guessed it!
Whether he died from a drug overdose caused by a plane crash!..

I had to chuckle at the irony.

Healthcare reform survey

One of our California US Congressmen Darrell Issa sent out an email survey regarding the Healthcare Reform plans currently underway. Here is the text of the results sent out in an email this morning.

Thank you to the 18,809 of you who completed the survey I emailed you last week. Here are the results of that survey:
A "government option" should be a part of any healthcare reform passed by Congress.
Agree - 38% (6,641)
Disagree - 62% (10,667)

Government should remain a neutral regulator of the healthcare industry and refrain from taking greater control over the payment of or provision of healthcare services.
Agree - 67% (11,682)
Disagree - 33% (5,694)

In order to insure all Americans, I would support a plan which increases taxes for: (Select the statements below that you AGREE with.)
Middle Class and Working Class Families - 11% (1,997)
Upper income families with household incomes above $250,000. - 32% (6,096)
My own family - 13% (2,473)
None of the above, I do not support raising taxes in order to insure all Americans - 59% (11,119)

I support President Barack Obama's healthcare plan.
Agree - 25% (4,459)
Disagree - 60% (10,577)
I do not know enough about the President's plan to make a decision. - 15% (2,596)

I have proposed that the same health plans provided to Members of Congress and Federal employees be made available to all private employers and workers. Under my proposal, employers would be required to make the same contributions as the government and workers would have to pay the same premiums paid by federal employees. Participation in these plans would be voluntary for employers and employees. Do you:

Oppose this proposal - 26% (4,251)

A very large number of Californians participated in this survey, and although it is not scientific, I think it accurately reflects the trend in public opinion against the Democrats' plan to force a government takeover of healthcare.

Overwhelmingly, Californians said they did not want government more involved in healthcare decision making, and that they didn't want to pay higher taxes to finance the cost of a massive new entitlement system.

The poll also demonstrates that the President has done a poor job telling voters exactly what his plan is, and those who feel they do understand his plan do not support it.

Finally, the respondents to the poll indicated overwhelming support for my plan to provide employers and workers with access to the same private healthcare plans that are available to members of Congress, at the same price the federal government pays - at a minimum of expense to taxpayers.

Nahh.. they couldn't possibly have a case ready that soon.
