Michelle Malkin isn't a fan of the current administration. To note a few books she has written on the subject. But her commentary on the current healthcare legislation being determined behind closed doors is pretty eye opening. There is a petition to Pelosi to force her to uphold her "promise" to allow cameras into the negotiating chambers.

Wow the associated video on that story is VERY damning for Obama. Repeated promises (I counted no less than 9 times on the video) by Obama that all negotiations will be in open, NOT behind closed doors and "on CSPAN".

Just had a grip of emergency maintenance, scheduled maintenance, warranty repairs, and recall updates done to my car. Feels and drives like a new car again. I might be able to hold off getting that 2010 GTI for another year.. :-)

Whilst waiting for some server stuff to finish running today, I was messing around with the new Google Earth 5.1.

Since Google Earth does the directions finding like Google Maps and I had clicked on some scenic points of interest like Mt Fuji, I decided to see "how" Google Earth would get me from my home to Mount Fuji.

I thought it would take me to the nearest international airport and fly me across the ocean... but noooooo.. that would be too easy! Instead I am to "kayak across the Pacific Ocean Entering Hawaii". Interesting, what I really can't figure out however is, WHY it has me DRIVE all the way to Seattle to launch my kayak! Maybe that is the only official "kayak launch" on the west coast? I mean, if I am going to attack the treacherous ocean in a kayak, I would think that pushing off the Manhattan beach pier would do just fine.




And for that matter, why even detour my way down to Hawaii and then back up to Japan? Maybe they think I need a little break after my first 2756 miles before I do another 3879 miles to Japan??!?! naaaahhh...
